The SH2E project joined this mission by developing guidelines and software to help assess the life cycle sustainability of systems of one of the key players in the fight against the climate crisis: hydrogen.
To achieve this, SH2E developed specific guidelines for the environmental, social, and/or economic life-cycle assessment of hydrogen-based systems, as well as a tool based on these guidelines. Key innovations include, for instance, an integrated sustainability perspective, the consideration of prospectivity in the assessment, and the development of a product-level material criticality indicator.
